Hello Miss Sue!!! How are you? I'm good:) Summer is rolling by waayyyy too fast for me and we still have a huge decision to make about the kids schooling next year. Big decisions are so stressful!!
Isaac's team won his baseball tournament last week. It was pretty awesome seeing them get their trophies!! Maia is still playing piano and has decided that she wants to learn to cook. Ash is still totally into space and has added weather to his list of obsessions:) I think I have seen every tornado video there is on youtube!!
How are you guys? Business going good? Are the boys getting excited to go back to school? Have you taken up any new hobbies?
howdy lori, i loved the pictures of his game.. made me feel like i was there for every hit..very cool. i would still love for maia to teach me how to play piano.. :) asher is adorable.. that's so neat how he throws himself into something .. did you make him a space suit.. (so he doesn't wear his fireman coat and boots anymore) what a shame.. i loved that. the boys are really looking forward to school back in session.. they havent seen their friends as much..there have been a few sleep overs but as far as doing anything.. we are always busy.. the business is slowly increasing.. we lost a few due to non payment.. loss of jobs or moving but it is doing well.. we are holding steady around 250 or so.. shaun is back to work and working his tail off. he works the business from 6am -2pm goes to GE from 3-11pm.. he is nuts.. i am working on the walls around the stinkin, leaking, chimney that we are praying is finally fixed.. tore out all the horse-hair plaster.. scrubbed down the brick and re-point and seal it.. i love the way its turning out.. i guess it was supposed to leak ..hahahaha.. funny you should ask about hobbies.. i am going to try to make penny rugs.. i saw some in a magazine and thought they looked cool.. they aren't really rugs, but runners or wall hangings.. pretty cool.. now all i have to do is find wool..they say to go to goodwill or use wool felt... we'll see how that works! haha how have your flowers been?? still among the living? hope so. the boys were so jealous of isaac, maia, and asher.. having a trampoline.. they want one so bad.. i honestly don't know how we would do it.. our yard isn't so big, you know.? oh well.. its good to want and not always get , right? hahaha.. thanks for writing me back.. i thought no one reads this blog anymore.. kinda depressing. love you guys.. sue
duh..i wanted to tell you about this women that i met that homeschools her children.. we talked for about 3 hr.s about the subject and you..hopefully you dont' mind.( i know, to late now..) haha. anyway.. she said that she has always homeschooled.. from day one of pre-school.. she has a network of ladies that do and she has seen that if you pull out your children that have been in the school system for more than 3 yr.s that they don't seem to do as well .. im not sure why.. but something about their social behavior and structure.. i think that you would be great, b/c you always have stuff planned for them.they are bright kids and would be fine. she says she struggles with the curriculum due to her childrens ages.. she teaches 3 grades..some overlap, but most is different and tough.. not only is she their teacher, homework monitor, but she has to keep up on the housework, meals.. you name it.. she is stressed, but says its worth it. they don't respect her alot.. and she doesn't get to participate outside the 'classroom' b/c she is writing up next assignments and/or doing chores.. i never thought about all that... i just figured that they would learn and i could still do.. kinda naive.. she also said that she loves it.. and that she would recommend it to anyone.. but still feels that pulling them out doesn't always work.. i pointed out that you could always put them back in..and she said that they would put them in a lower grade than what they had been homeschooled.. the curriculum is more advanced than the public and they will be bored and the statistics are they drop out. i don't know if any of this helped or if i totally just screwed your thinking up.. but do what your heart tells you and GOD will take care of you and the children.. i have total faith that you will be an excellent homeschool mom, teacher and homemaker.. so anyways.. that's my take on it.. not that you asked..hahahaha.. loveya, sue
I'm so glad you liked the pictures! My nifty new camera will take picture after picture when it's in sports mode. It makes me happy to scroll through the photos very fast and see the action just like it's happening in real time! Sometimes they look like the same picture but if you watch the coach you can see him pacing back and forth as you forward through the pics!! I am easy to please I tell ya!!
Asher still really loves firemen but other things have definitely piqued his interests. I still catch him in his fireman garb every few weeks. Makes me a bit sad that he is moving on to other things. Of course cute things come with his new interests as well!!
Can't believe your boys are looking forward to school!! What are they...crazy?!?!?!:) I'm glad they love school and are excited to go back. We just don't share that sentiment in this house! Even Maia doesn't want to go back this year. And she ALWAYS wants to go back. (sigh)
Glad to hear the business is going well!! Sounds like Shaun is putting his all into it!! I would burn out quick if I was trying to maintain that schedule. We pray it blossoms and grows for you guys all the time:)
Isn't horsehair plaster fun? Been there...done that! The clean up was down right AWFUL!! What a mess:( It is fun seeing all your hard work and labor of love pay off though:)
I need to google penny rug. I don't think I've ever heard of that. I have lost ALL of my creativity. I need to figure out a way to get it back...I miss it:(
Are you guys still talking about doing the Creation Museum?
i haven't given you a date yet, b/c they may not let shaun take a vacation now.. we have to wait and see if they sign off on it or not..:( but we still plan on goin' just don't know when.. we also want to go to the wrightpatterson airforce base.. so are you going to do it??? home school? you know you want to.. ahahahaha.. i will let you know about our trip if it comes to light.. loveya, sue
